Every June, Glowfair Festival is held across ten blocks on the major street of Ottawa—Downtown Bank Street. Each block takes on a unique theme and comes up with ways to celebrate Ottawa's diversity. The festival dates back to 2014, when The Downtown Bank Street Business Improvement Area Association came to a decision to hold a neighborhood festival which would be like no other event. Thus Glowfair was created, combining art, music, and also providing a platform for local businesses.
Alchemy Alleyway from Slater to Laurier Ave brings magic to life. Magicians and artists truly transform the street right in front of your eyes. DJ Stage from Laurier to Gloucester is alive with beats and mixes during days and nights. For many visitors, it's the favorite part of Glowfair Festival. Swing City features giant glowing swings and lots of vendors. Art Chaos is also a Glowfair's highlight showcasing dozens of Ottawa's artists and many murals. Glowyoga is another thing that makes Glowfair so popular.
The festival features plenty of indigenous arts and artists, as well as the most talented Canadian musicians, Juno winners and nominees headline the Morguard Mainstage of the festival.
