What Is TIFF About?

At the 2024 Festival, several awards and prizes will be presented, including the People's Choice Award for feature films or series, the Platform Award with a $20,000 CAD prize, and the FIPRESCI Prize for emerging filmmakers. TIFF Kids International Film Festival
Also, every year, organizers give an opportunity to young audiences to enjoy the TIFF Kids International Film Festival featuring animated films and movies with and about kids. The TIFF Kids program usually runs in March.
History of TIFF
Established in 1976 under the moniker Festival of Festivals, its original mission was to screen films from diverse festivals worldwide. Over time, it has evolved into one of the globe's premier film showcases, drawing both industry insiders and the general public. In 1995, it rebranded as the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF). Since 2010, the festival has found its home at TIFF Bell Lightbox, a multi-level complex housing cinemas, galleries, and an array of film-related amenities.
