Canada Day in Toronto is celebrated with festive events: parades, fireworks, concerts, and other merriment that packs lots of red and white and maple leaves all around. The festival is spread across the entire country, and Toronto sees one of the largest celebrations. The festivities take place on July 1st across city parks and squares. Festive hotspots include Amesbury Park, Canada’s Wonderland, Downsview Park, Mel Lastman Square, Thompson Memorial Park, Port Credit Memorial Park, Stan Wadlow Park, Harbourfront Centre, Ashbridge’s Bay, Markham Civic Centre, Richmond Green Park, Chinguacousy Park, and Fort York National Historic Site. Fireworks start at 10 pm at several city parks, including Ashbridges Bay Park, Centennial Park, Stan Wadlow Park, and Milliken Park.
Nathan Phillips Square Celebration
Nathan Phillips Square is one of the epicenters of Canada Day Celebrations in Toronto. This massive street party offers free admission and plenty of things to do. The festival features live music, dance shows, family-friendly activities, and food vendors. Entertainment is available from noon to 6 pm. Previous live music lineups included Alpha Rhythm Roots, The Hitmen Drumline, Celtic duo Alana and Leigh Cline, and various family-friendly programming.
East York Canada Day Festival
East York hosts one of the longest-running Canada Day celebrations in the city. Festivities start with a beloved community Parade, starting at Dieppe Park at 10:30 am and walking to Stan Wadlow Park. The parade is followed by the festival at Stan Wadlow Park, running from 11 am to 10 pm. The celebration features the main stage with live music, a carnival midway, children's activities, an artisan market, food vendors and a beer garden. The main highlight of the festivities is the spectacular fireworks show at 10 pm.
Canada Day in Ajax
One of the most popular Canada Day celebrations take place out of Ajax Downs Racetrack. Attendees can expects live music, food trucks, cultural performances and many children's activities, like air brush tattoo's, inflatables, strolling buskers and plenty of games. Entertainment includes cultural performances on stage and live music. Also plenty of delicious food is available from food vendors. The festival runs from 2 pm to 10 pm. The celebration concludes with an amazing fireworks display.
Brampton's Canada Day
The historic Brampton is also known for its vibrant Canada Day celebrations. The festivities draw thousands of locals and visitors to Chinguacousy Park. Plenty of music, vendors, and various entertainment will be available for free. The fireworks show is scheduled to start at 10 pm.
