Every spring, Georgia's famous Vidalia Onion steals the spotlight! Food lovers across the U.S. gather in Vidalia for a four-day festival jam-packed with fun events and activities for all ages. It's been featured on The Food Network and hailed as one of the top festivals in the U.S. You are welcome to join the sweet festivities in Vidalia during the harvest of Georgia's Official State Vegetable!
Activities at the Festival
The Vidalia Onion Festival is not only about food! The weekends are packed with various events for every taste. Visitors can experience the thrill of a state fair with spectacular amusement rides and attractions! The mobile family fun fair and theme park offer excitement for all ages. The Vidalia Arts & Crafts Show features a diverse range of fun and unique vendors. For example, at Mimosas & Onion Art, you can create a piece of onion art while sipping on mimosas in the beautiful historic Pal Theatre. The price for the class is $45.
Recipe Contest
The festival will include many onions in different shapes and forms, including the hit sweet onion rings. To brighten up the food experience, the organizers offer to participate in a recipe contest. Pre-registration is open until April 24; all entries must arrive by 10 am on April 27. The entry fee is $15, and the grand prize is $500! If interested, visitors can prepare two of each dish in the following categories: appetizer, side dish, and miscellaneous food.
Vidalia Onion Festival's Air Show (April 26, 2024)
In 2024, the Vidalia Onion Festival's Air Show proudly hosts Georgia's exclusive appearance of the legendary Blue Angels. This year, they're ramping up the excitement with more than just the U.S. Navy's elite pilots showcasing thrilling maneuvers. Joining them are the precision of the Georgia State Patrol and a lineup of top-notch aerial talents. Tickets are selling rapidly and can be purchased at the following prices: adult (ages 13+)—$20, child (ages 6-12)—$10, ages five and under—free. Free parking is included; however, a premium parking option is available for the Sunday show. Both shows are scheduled for Saturday and Sunday at noon.
Vidalia Onion Festival Concert (April 26, 2024)
Georgia's vibrant music scene will lure you into the Vidalia Onion Festival Concert! This year, an exceptional lineup of homegrown talent is presented, led by the sensational Lauren Alaina. With the unique sounds of Austin Snell and the soulful melodies of RVSHVD following, this concert promises to be a tribute to the state's rich musical legacy. Early bird ticket for general admission will cost you $30 and a premier ticket is $100. The concert is scheduled for Friday, April 26, at 6 pm.
