Troy Strawberry Festival has been a favorite annual tradition for many Ohio families since 1977. The festival is held during strawberry harvest peak time, on the first weekend of June, in the center of the local strawberry industry in the historic town of Troy, on the bank of the Great Miami River. The event features over 200 arts and crafts booths, live entertainment on three stages, plenty of fun activities for children, and tons of delicious berries.

Schedule of the Fest

The festival hours on Saturday are from 10 am to 9 pm and Sunday from 10 am to 6 pm. The opening ceremony will start at 10 am on the Prouty Stage. Arts, crafts, games, and food will also be available from 10 am. Contests, entertainment, and performances are scheduled throughout the day.

Entertainment

Performances are scheduled to take place on three different stages: Prouty Plaza Stage (downtown by the Mayflower), Levee Stage (below the Gazebo on the lower levee), and Community Stage (concrete pad on the lower levee past the Gazebo). The stages are set to host body fitness, Kung Fu, cardio drumming, Irish dancing, Zumba, Pilates, and a plethora of live performers. Saturday Night Concert is scheduled for 6:30 pm on Prouty stage.

Events & Activities

The Troy Strawberry Festival events include a 10k Classic Run, Strawberry Pageants, and other exciting competitions. This festival is also an opportunity to raise funds for many local charities and civic groups. There are plenty of activities suitable for children of all age groups. Friday night will feature food, face painting, balloons, and live music on Prouty Plaza. The festival will include a Pie Eating contest, a Shortcake run, and the Super Kids competition on Saturday and Sunday.

Food

Children especially love the Troy Strawberry Festival due to its delicious strawberry treats. During the weekend, you will find all things strawberry-filled or strawberry-flavored at the Festival: strawberry treats such as the famous Strawberry Donuts, deep-fried strawberries, Strawberry Salsa, and much more. Festival food like Texas Tenderloins, Blooming Onions, Hamburgers, Sausages, and Cajun cuisine will also be present. Adults can purchase alcoholic beverages from licensed vendors.

Pets

For the safety of both your dog and all festival attendees, the organizers of the event advise against bringing any animals to the event (with the exception of service animals). If you do decide to bring your dog, please ensure it is on a leash and under your control at all times.

Location, Tickets & Parking

The Strawberry Festival will be located on both the Great Miami River Levee and the Downtown streets of Troy, Ohio. It is free and open to the public. The Festival offers free parking and a free shuttle service to the festival site from parking areas located off I-75, which will drop you off directly at the festival.

The history of the festival

Since its modest beginnings in 1977, the festival has grown annually, supported by local businesses. Today, it's a community-wide endeavor involving thousands of volunteers coordinated by a committee of over 40 individuals. This grassroots effort generates sufficient income to fund various community service projects. The Troy Strawberry Festival is a family-friendly event that draws over 200,000 visitors to the Troy area each year.
