Lincoln City Kite Festival takes place twice a year, in summer (June) and fall (October), at the D-River Wayside State Park in Lincoln City, Oregon. A two-day family-friendly festival on the beach features kites flying demonstrations by pros, free kite making workshops for kids, and huge colourful show kites that kids will definitely love.

Festival Activities

The annual Kite Festival is a true Lincoln City vacation tradition for many families in Oregon. The festival program includes performances by featured fliers, a Kite Flier Memorial, and the Running of the Bols, a fun race in the sand while strapped to a parachute kite.

Festival Opening Hours and Schedule

Lincoln City Kite Festival runs from 10 am to 4 pm. It starts with a festival opening performance and a free kite-making workshop with Family Promise of Lincoln County. Performances by featured fliers last from 10 am to 4 pm. Also, all-day activities feature Pixie Fest Carnival Games, a walk through the Wind Garden, a big kite show, and an art kite display. The Special Kite Flier Memorial takes place on Sunday from 11 am to 11:15 am. It is possible that the schedule will change due to circumstances outside of the organizers' control, including weather conditions. The times are approximate.

Parking and Free Shuttle

Parking is possible at the Lincoln City Community Center. Shuttle service is provided free of charge and runs continuously from 9:30 am to 4 pm on Saturday and Sunday.

The beach is pet-friendly if your dog is leashed. All service animals are also welcome, Still, while exploring beaches, please be mindful and clean up after your pet.

Lincoln City is located on the central coast of Oregon. A picturesque area where D River connects Devil’s Lake to a sandy Pacific beach is one of the most beautiful in the state. There are plenty of things to do here besides flying kites. The Devil’s Lake State Recreation Area has many hiking trails and a campground.
