Jacksonville Jazz Festival is another event that falls on Memorial Day. In 2024, the fest will be held from May 23d to May 26th. This event started way back in 1981 and, over the years, has become one of America's biggest free jazz fests. As a visitor, you'll have a chance to listen to amazing live performances by some of the greatest names in jazz history, such as Jeff Ryan, Gregory Porter, Sebastian Mikael, and others. Veterans Memorial Wall Ceremony (unconfirmed, 2024)
This ceremony may be the most important one of all those held in Jacksonville. Military veterans, patriots, and regular citizens get together at the Veterans Memorial Wall for an important ceremony, which is aimed to pay tribute to the fallen heroes. This venue was chosen for a reason as the wall has the names of the heroes engraved on it. At the event, you'll witness a relevant musical performance, hear a speech by a significant figure in the American military (most likely a war veteran), watch the eternal fire burn, and spectate a marching ceremony. The event begins at 8:30 am.
