The Greater Austin Comic Convention (GACC) is a fan gathering dedicated to all things popular culture. Held at H-E-B Center in Cedar Park in Austin, TX, the two-day event features plenty of entertainment and family-friendly activities. Tens of thousands of comics, anime, horror, fantasy, Sci-Fi, and gaming fans are expected to attend.
Events at Comiccon
Among the highlights of the Greater Austin Comic Convention are gaming competitions, cosplay contests, and a superhero-themed car show. The large exhibition floor is filled with vendors offering collectibles, merchandise, toys, books, and costumes. Another big attraction is a celebrity line-up. Actors, artists, and directors take part in panels, photo ops, and autograph sessions. Guests and celebrities in this year's GACC include 'Weird Al' Yankovic, Taimak, Bolo Yeung, Ernie Reyes Jr., Marky Ramone, Lenore Zann, and many others.
Cosplay Contests
Artists Alley is a unique space that gathers many cosplay artists, game developers, writers, and creators of all kinds. The Cosplay Contest and Kids Cosplay Contest are another crowd pleaser, with hundreds of participants ready to walk the stage. All attendees are encouraged to wear costumes or cosplay.
Tickets & Parking
Greater Austin Comic Con attendees have various ticket options. On Saturday, General Admission tickets are $45 for standard adults and $20 for children aged 6-12. Alternatively, Sunday tickets are slightly cheaper, with standard adult tickets at $40 and children's tickets at $15 for the same age group.
For those planning to immerse themselves in the full weekend experience, there's the 2-day pass, priced at $65 for standard adults and $30 for children aged 6-12 years old. Kids under six years old can enter for free. There's plenty of parking available in the nearby parking lot surrounding the H-E-B Center and behind the convention center. A parking fee will be charged during the show's weekend.
